We usually compare two things which have the same quality with as…as. Let’s see the following examples.

My daughter is as beautiful as my wife.
My son is as fat as my wife.
My brother is not as tall as my father.

2. So Adjective As in Negative Sentences

We can replace as adjective as with so adjective as in negative sentences. Let’s see the following examples.

My ex-girlfriend is not so beautiful as my wife.
My father is not so fat as my mother.
My brother is not so tall as my father.

3. As Adjective As Preceded By Twice, Three Times

As adjective as can be preceded by twice, three times, four times, etc. Let’s see the following examples.

Drinking water is twice as expensive as petrol these days.
Your house is three times as large as mine.

4. As Adverb As (Comparison As As)

We can compare two actions with as adverb as. Let’s see the following examples.

The little boy can run as fast as me.
She went out of the door as quietly as she could.
He walked his 2 year old son as slowly as possible.
Call me as soon as possible!

5. The Same Noun As

Instead of as adjective/adjective as, we can use the same + noun + as to compare two things or actions. Let’s see the following table.

6. Pronoun After As … As
